Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas! and I love Christmas music, especially Mariah Carey Christmas albums, but as you get older they start to get old and repetitive. You walk into any Starbucks or mall and you hear the same songs over and over again. It’s almost like you can’t escape Christmas music! Working in an office full of overzealous co-workers is honestly the worst, they just can’t wait until December hits to blast their Christmas playlist that they’ve stored away for the last 11 months.

So, if you’re sick of listening to the classic Deck The Halls, Oh All Ye Faithful and of course It’s Cold Outside here’s a playlist filled with Alternative Christmas songs consisting of metalcore, pop-punk and metal versions of Christmas songs to get you back into the Holiday spirit!

Death Cab For Cutie – Baby, Please Come Home

Here’s a soft one to easy you into the list. Death Cab does a solid and catchy version of an already catch Christmas tune.

A Day To Remember  - Right Where You Want Me To Be

Break out the ugly Christmas sweaters! This one isn’t really a cover, but just a solid Christmas song! Not to mention a seriously fun music video.

For All Those Sleeping – Maybe This Christmas

Not to be confused by the original Ron Sexsmith song. For All Those Sleeping’s version completely sleighs! Who doesn’t want a Christmas song with a little angst and bitterness with lyrics like, “It’s all right you can let it snow. But this year I can do without the ‘HO HO HO’”

Becoming The Archetype – O Holy Night

Now to make things a little heavier! Becoming The Archetype’s version of O Holy Night is so eerie and dark, besides the first couple minutes, you can barely recognize the song. Give the song some time to build up and things get pretty gnarly. Somewhere in the song there’s a pretty sweet breakdown.

It Dies Today – Feliz Navidad

It’s not Christmas without Feliz Navidad. Only this time, metalcore band It Dies Today add their own heavy twist on this Christmas classic.

Being As An Ocean – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

This is personally my favorite metalcore Christmas song. Being As An Ocean take a traditional Xmas jam and turn into something emotional and awesome, like every BAAO song!

Austrian Death Machine – Jingle Bells

One of my favorite Christmas movies of all time is Jingle All The Way with Arnold! So it makes perfect sense why Austrian Death Machine would do a cover of Jingle Bells!

Against The Current – All I Want For Christmas

No one does it better than Mariah, but Against The Current do a pretty solid pop punk version! The music video is pretty fun as well.

Betraying The Martyr – Let It Go

Not really a Christmas song, but I thought I’d add this to the list, especially since it’s from the Disney Christmas movie Frozen!

August Burns Red – We Wish You A Merry Christmas

August Burns Red seriously know how to celebrate Christmas! 2012′s Sleddin’ Hill, A Holiday Album is filled with metal covers of Holiday favorites!
